Britain's Got Talent at Little Johnny Russell's

Some may have heard the sad news recently that Little Johnny Russell's will soon be closing, with the lease being up in November.

Personally I have had some very pleasant evenings in LJRs, it has definitely become a home to great live performances, particularly by local artists.

Unfortunately my last visit wasn't the best. I went to see the Britains Got Talent Auditions this week and the thing I was most excited about was seeing variety. Then only one act was something other than singing. Bit of a bummer. Plus there were loads of no shows, bigger bummer!

However I still had a good night thanks to dancer Sidney and my find for the evening, singer Mary Red. Live performances are so good! Part of the fun is not knowing what you are going to see. Its fair to say I could not have imagined seeing someone like Mary Red, her cheeky causal approach to performing was quite a change. Her voice and performance was great, I am already looking forward to seeing Mary Red again.

Hopefully I will get a few more evenings / nights in LJRs before it closes its doors. Even in the short time I have been going there, it has felt like the home of music in Portsmouth for me. I will be sorry to see it leave.

The other performances on the night were great to see, I just wish there had been more of them.

This weekends been a challenge with so much going on. I have tried to listen to my mind and have a bit of a break. That being said I am really getting in there with planning for a very cool event I hope to be able to tell you about soon! I actually took my planning book to the BGT auditions, which given the gaps between the performances was a very handy decision.

Its been a big week for many, I hope you are all well and if you have received exam results recently I send you loads of positivity, whatever the outcome was.
